October 1st marks a fall tradition in our house; I get to decorate for FALL!! As you all know, I live and breathe fall. It is my favorite season, or week, in Houston. There is something so exciting about cooler weather, turning leaves, and of course Pumpkin Spice Lattes. When October comes, I go all out for fall! This year, I have a mobile Nugget so I have had to limit my decorations in order to avoid little grabby hands and my decorations. Welcome to my Fall Home Tour!
I may receive compensation for purchases made through the links below. These are all my own opinions.
I call my entryway the “Rotunda”. It isn’t as grand as a true Rotunda but it is a circular space with high ceilings and needed a fancy name. This is the first thing guests see when they enter the home. Because I can gate off Nugget from this room, I focused the majority of my decorations here. I have collected most of my decorations over the years from HomeGoods or Hobby Lobby. When we bought our first home, I went crazy buying fall decorations and ended up spending way too much money and not liking half the decor. So, with Dave Ramsey in mind, I buy one or two things I love each year and add to my decorations.
This year I added the Trick or Treat cauldron. We usually pass out candy in our silver mixing bowl but when I saw this bowl at HomeGoods I knew it would be one of the pieces we bought this year. Most of my decorations are very traditional fall decor. I am an old soul at heart and don’t like some of the more modern decor. You will see lots of pumpkins. The fall blocks were new last year and are so cute for this table.
The table, cow hide and basket are permanent staples in the entryway. The table was a hand me down, the rug was on sale at Ikea but here is a similar Cow Hide Rug (affilitate). I am a sucker for a sale and have devoted my life’s purpose to only buy items on sale or clearance. You would be surprised at how successful I am! But, because these are all clearance items I can’t link the exact ones. Table (similar) (affiliate)/ Wire Basket (similar)(affiliate)
The dining room is one of my favorite rooms in the house. Probably, because it is the only “completed” room. When we bought the house, the dining room was painted gold. As in gold leaf. As in blinding. The hubby painted it within the first few months of living there and I redid the table. It was given to us as a hand me down and was an oak color that I was not fond of. Thank goodness for chalk paint and stain! The pumpkin was my other purchase this year. Isn’t it beautiful? Thank you Hobby Lobby. It is large, perfect for the room and makes a great statement. I wish we used this room more.
The mantel at our house is really hard to decorate. The window and blinds behind it make it very hard to put anything up unless it stands on its own. Even then, anything tall blocks the light. Mamas, what do you think? Any suggestions on decorations for this space? Pinterest has the most beautiful mantels and I am not wowed my mine at all.
At lastly, our console table. This table is solely for the hubs. I am not a fan of Halloween. At all. I don’t like dressing up and I don’t like anything scary. Can see where I get the name Fun Bear yet? My husband on the other hand lives for scary and Halloween. So, we compromised and I get all the fall decorations I want as long as he gets some fun, weird Halloween decorations. He is so sweet that he usually gives me options to choose from knowing how important fall is to me. I love him.
That is my Fall Home Tour! I hope you got some great ideas for your house. I would love to hear your feedback on the mantel and how I can make it better! Happy Fall Y’all!!!
